NEURODIVERGENT THERAPY
AT THE FITZROVIA PSYCHOLOGY CLINIC

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  • Initial Consultation: You will meet with an experienced clinician to discuss your experiences, concerns, and goals for therapy. We take time to understand your individual strengths, challenges, and how neurodivergence may be affecting different aspects of daily life.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Where appropriate, we explore your developmental history, current experiences, emotional wellbeing, and any previous assessments or diagnoses. This allows us to develop a clear understanding of your individual needs and identify the most appropriate therapeutic approach.
  • Collaborative Exploration: Therapy is a collaborative process that recognises and values neurodiversity. Together, we explore your experiences, identify practical strategies, build on your strengths, and develop approaches that support your wellbeing across home, education, work, and relationships.
  • Personalised Treatment Plan: Every therapy plan is tailored to the individual. Depending on individual needs, sessions may focus on emotional regulation, anxiety management, self-esteem, executive functioning, social relationships, coping with change, or adapting to everyday challenges.
  • Ongoing Support: We offer ongoing therapeutic support for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Appointments are available both in person at our London clinic and online where clinically appropriate, providing flexible support throughout your therapeutic journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Neurodivergent Therapy?

Neurodivergent Therapy is an individualised therapeutic approach that supports people with Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences. It focuses on understanding strengths, managing challenges, and improving emotional wellbeing rather than changing who a person is.

Who can benefit from Neurodivergent Therapy?

Children, adolescents, adults, and families can all benefit from Neurodivergent Therapy. It can help individuals who have received a diagnosis, are awaiting assessment, or simply wish to better understand their experiences.

Do I need an Autism or ADHD diagnosis before starting therapy?

No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to access therapy. Our clinicians can support individuals who are exploring neurodivergence as well as those with an existing diagnosis.

What can Neurodivergent Therapy help with?

Therapy may support anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, executive functioning, relationships, sensory differences, navigating education or work, and adapting to everyday challenges associated with neurodivergence.

Can therapy be provided alongside an Autism or ADHD assessment?

Yes. Many individuals choose to begin therapy following an assessment to better understand their diagnosis and develop practical strategies for daily life. Therapy can also be provided independently of the assessment process.

Is therapy available for children and adults?

Yes. Our clinicians provide specialist therapeutic support for children, adolescents, adults, and families, tailoring treatment to each individual’s developmental stage and needs.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your individual goals and circumstances. This will be discussed during your initial consultation and reviewed regularly throughout therapy.

Do you offer online appointments?

Yes. We offer both in-person appointments at our London clinic and online therapy where clinically appropriate.

  • Jonathan is fantastic. I found our sessions to be a very calm environment that really helped me to reset each week. Jonathan really builds a great rapport, and is very practical and realistic during the process. I could not recommend him more!

  • I am extremely grateful for the care Allison showed me during our sessions. She always adapted sessions to match my needs and demonstrated a real understanding of the difficulties I was facing. Her openness and kindness meant that trust was developed very quickly, and I would have no hesitation in seeing her again should I ever need to.

    Former Client

  • The early stages showed me that Emily truly cares about helping other people. I was hesitant to start sessions, but Emily remained consistent with reaching out and always remained patient and understanding. The depth and structure of the sessions was incredible, I’ve never worked with a therapist who has left me feeling like I understand and appreciate to I am to such a level.
