Dr Samuel Chu

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Samuel Chu is a UK-trained Clinical Psychologist and CBT Therapist, working across both NHS and private practice.

He is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, representing the highest standards of psychological knowledge, experience, and ethical expertise in the UK. He is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. He is also accredited as a CBT Therapist by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

Many of his clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed with worry, struggling to sleep, feeling stuck, and experiencing low self-esteem. You may find yourself anxious about what others think (social anxiety), troubled by intrusive thoughts (OCD), feeling chronically stressed, struggling to regulate your emotions, or feeling disconnected from your authentic self. Together, you will work to understand what has been holding you back, develop healthier ways of coping and relating, and move towards a life that feels more meaningful, connected and true to who you are.

Therapy with Sam is compassionate, collaborative, and reflective. He frequently works with long-standing difficulties, drawing on trauma-informed and attachment-based perspectives to understand their origins. In sessions, all feelings — fear, stress, sadness, hopelessness, joy, anger, and uncertainty — are welcomed.

Sam’s work is grounded in evidence-based, personalised therapy informed by CBT and third-wave approaches. He works collaboratively with clients to help them understand their difficulties, develop practical skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
