How do I access therapy at the Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic?

To begin, please contact us via telephone or email to enquire about the services that we can provide. We will endeavour to respond within 48-hours, and will guide you through the next steps.

What happens next?

Following your initial enquiry, we will schedule a brief telephone consultation with you in order to gather some basic information about you, your needs and hopes and goals, in order to recommend a gold standard package of care for you based on the latest theory and evidence. At this point, we will also be able to establish which clinician(s) may be best suited to support you. If you are happy to proceed, we will then organise your first formal assessment appointment with the agreed clinician(s), who will contact you directly to organise this and who will support you throughout the rest of your journey at the Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic. We encourage your active collaboration throughout this entire process. In some cases, we may advise that further multidisciplinary support could be helpful, for example, from a dietitian or psychiatrist, and we will support you in linking with the right professional where needed.

Can I refer myself or do I need to be referred by a doctor?

Your GP, psychiatrist or another professional can refer you to the Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic, or you can contact us directly. It is important to know however that even if you self-refer, we are obliged to request and confirm your consent to liaise and share information with your GP and/or psychiatrist before we can proceed.

Can I choose which therapist I work with?

Absolutely. In your initial enquiry, please specify if you have a preference of therapist that you would like to work with and we will do our best to arrange this. We will however advise if another therapist may be better suited to offering therapy for your particular needs, as each therapist has their own area(s) of speciality.

Can I choose the type of therapy I want?

Your preferences are very important and will always be taken into account. However, before starting therapy, we carry out a thorough clinical assessment to understand your background, current difficulties, goals, and hopes. From this, we work with you to create a shared understanding of your needs and to agree on a treatment plan together.

This plan is based on both your lived experience and our clinical expertise, ensuring it is evidence-based and tailored to your goals. The approach is collaborative, reviewed regularly, and adapted when needed, so you remain actively involved in decisions about your care throughout the process.

Do I have to have a GP involved in my care?

At The Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic, we require all clients to have a GP and/or psychiatrist involved in their care. This ensures that your healthcare is safe, joined-up, and fully supported. With your consent, we will keep your GP informed of your involvement with us and collaborate where appropriate. This shared approach helps us provide the highest standard of care and ensures that any wider health needs are taken into account.

How can I leave feedback about my experience at the Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic?

At the end of treatment, we will kindly ask you to complete a short client satisfaction questionnaire to let us know about your experience at the Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic. We will use this information to keep improving our services. You can also request to speak to one of the founding members by sending an email to hello@thefitzroviaclinic.com

Fees & Payment

Initial telephone consultations are non-chargeable. Fees for assessment and routine psychological therapy appointments thereafter range from £195-£450. We accept all major health insurance providers and self-funding options.

Fees are variable dependent upon health insurance cover, the individual clinician(s) involved in your care, the treatment package being provided and session location.

Please ensure to read the terms and conditions sent to you by your clinician prior to attending your initial appointment, which will detail and confirm payment information. For further information, please get in contact.

How long do appointments last?

The initial telephone consultation will last up to 15-minutes in duration.

Assessment appointments and routine sessions following this will last between 45-50 minutes dependent on the clinician.

There may be times when extended sessions are required in order to complete the tasks of therapy. This will be arranged in advance between you and your clinician.

How do you ensure and promote equal inclusion and accessibility to the services you provide for those who need additional support or modifications?

All clinicians who work at the Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic practice in line with the ethical codes of conduct laid out by their professional body. They are therefore equipped with extensive knowledge, experience and training in providing modifications to the services provided to ensure and promote equal inclusion and accessibility.

If you require any additional support or modifications to the services we provide, please get in contact so we can organise this for you in advance. For example, ensuring wheelchair access, arranging professional interpreters, or making amendments to written materials.

How will I be billed?

The Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic uses an independent billing company, Civica, for all invoicing. You will not receive invoices directly from your clinician. All billing is managed externally to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

What happens if my health insurance runs out?

If your health insurance cover ends, your clinician would be delighted to continue seeing you on a self-funding basis. We recommend discussing this possibility with your clinician at the start of treatment so that you are aware of all options.

Do you accept health insurance?

Yes, we work with all major individual health insurance providers, including Bupa, AXA, WPA, Aviva, Cigna and others. If you are unsure whether your insurance is accepted, please contact us directly to confirm.
