Trauma Focused Therapy Specialism
Kate has significant experience working with individuals and families affected by trauma, including single event trauma, complex trauma, and historic childhood trauma. She has worked in several national specialist trauma services for both adults and children, including services for survivors of torture within forced migration contexts and specialist services for children who have experienced sexual abuse. Alongside her clinical work, Kate currently holds a senior trauma consultant role, providing trauma informed consultation and training to community organisations on the impact of developmental trauma in children.
She is trained in specialist trauma therapies including EMDR and trauma focused CBT and integrates these with compassion focused and attachment informed approaches. Her work supports clients to process traumatic experiences safely and reduce their ongoing impact, helping individuals feel empowered to reclaim their lives and reconnect with a more grounded, confident sense of self.
This therapy did nothing short of changing my life. Kate went above and beyond to support me in understanding why I felt after having my baby. I have been able to work through some of my unresolved childhood trauma which has helped me massively. Not only did Kate help me understand that I was not alone in this process but also how to cope. My relationship with my daughter has greatly improved as I am starting to understand her better without being so harsh on myself. I will always thankful to Kate for getting me back on track.
