Dr Kiana Azmoodeh
Kiana is a highly skilled HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and has worked across a range of mental health settings for over 10 years. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with first class honours from the University of Nottingham, before undertaking her doctoral training (DClinPsy) at University College London and qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist.
Kiana has worked across NHS mental health, forensic, and child and family services, supporting people at different stages of life and with diverse needs. Her clinical background includes supporting those experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma, and relationship difficulties, and she frequently works with people struggling with self-criticism, shame, and anger. While she is skilled in working with adversity, trauma, and the effects of past experiences, she equally supports people seeking an approach that focuses on the ‘here-and-now’.
Kiana has held both clinical and strategic leadership roles within the NHS as a Principal Clinical Psychologist. Alongside her clinical work, she has worked as a Lecturer and Clinical Tutor at UCL across postgraduate Masters and Doctoral programmes. She currently holds an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow position at UCL, with her work focusing on participant care and psychological safety in research exploring psychedelic assisted interventions.
Kiana’s therapeutic approach is grounded in compassion, and she works collaboratively to meet people exactly where they are as they take the often brave step of entering therapy. With warmth and curiosity, she hopes to support clients to make sense of new or longstanding patterns, working together towards shared goals. She is sensitive to the diverse contexts and cultures that shape each person’s story, and she aims to offer a safe and thoughtful therapeutic space where clients feel understood and supported to move toward meaningful change.
Kiana holds additional training and expertise across a range of evidence based therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Mentalisation Based Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, and systemic approaches.
