Ed Halliwell

Mindfulness Teacher, Author and Supervisor

Ed is a highly experienced mindfulness teacher, author and supervisor. He leads one-to-one and group mindfulness courses in-person in Sussex and globally online, working with a wide range of individuals, groups and organisations. Ed is the author of three books: Into The Heart of MindfulnessHow To Live Well By Paying Attention, and (as co-author) The Mindful Manifesto.

Ed is the director of Mindfulness Sussex and has taught the gold standard eight-week group mindfulness course (MBSR/MBCT) more than 200 times. He has also introduced and taught mindfulness in workplaces such as Accenture, NHS England, Imperial College Business School, Tate and Ardingly College, as well as working on the UK Parliamentary mindfulness teaching team, leading sessions for MPs and their staff. Ed supervises mindfulness teachers and is a member of the Mindfulness Network supervision team, and is registered as a mindfulness teacher by the British Association For Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA). The Guardian calls him “one of the UK’s leading mindfulness instructors and writers”.

Through mindfulness training. Ed helps people unhook from unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviour patterns and manage difficulties with awareness and kindness. He works with people experiencing a wide range of situations, including mental and physical health challenges (such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), fatigue, chronic pain or illness), life transitions, work and family stresses, neurodivergence (eg ADHD, autism), addiction and relationship issues. He also mentors those who are experienced with mindfulness and are looking to deepen their practice to support optimum flourishing and flexibility.
