OCD TREATMENT
AT THE FITZROVIA PSYCHOLOGY CLINIC

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  • Initial Consultation: Meet with a clinician experienced in OCD and anxiety-related conditions. We explore compulsive behaviours, and how these affect your daily functioning and emotional wellbeing.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: A detailed psychological assessment examines obsessive patterns, compulsive behaviours, emotional triggers, and any co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, or trauma.
  • Clear Feedback: You will receive a clear clinical understanding of your symptoms, including whether they meet diagnostic criteria for OCD.
  • Personalised Treatment Plan: A tailored treatment plan is developed collaboratively. This may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and, where appropriate, coordination with medication support such as SSRIs via a GP or psychiatrist.
  • Supportive and Flexible Care: We offer flexible private appointments in London and online therapy where appropriate, ensuring accessible and consistent support throughout treatment.

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

OCD is diagnosed when a person experiences persistent obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours that begin to significantly impact daily life. A full diagnosis is made through a comprehensive psychological assessment, which explores your experiences, emotional wellbeing, and how symptoms are affecting your day-to-day life.

Treatment at The Fitzrovia Psychology Clinic is always tailored to the individual and may also include support for related difficulties such as anxiety or low mood.
